THE MARRIED MONK

C’est un retour inespéré qu’on n’attendait plus. Groupe culte des années 1990 et 2000, The Married Monk (MM pour les afi cionados) revient dix ans après son cinquième album, Elephant People (2008), dont on craignait à force d’attendre son successeur qu’il clôture une discographie exemplaire. Formé par Christian Quermalet, chanteur et mélodiste à la voix grave reconnaissable entre mille, The Married Monk a marqué le paysage hexagonal à travers une poignée de disques importants.

It’s a long-awaited comeback. A cult band of the 1990s and 2000s, The Married Monk (MM for aficionados) are back ten years after their fifth album, Elephant People (2008), which we feared would close the discography, while waiting for its successor. Formed by Christian Quermalet, a singer and melodist with a deep, unmistakable voice, The Married Monk has left its mark on the French music scene with a handful of important albums.
