En dix-huit années d’existence et avec bientôt cinq albums à son actif, le duo français Arca – composé de Joan Cambon et Sylvain Chauveau – a défini un univers musical singulier basé sur la recherche sonore et la mélodie. Son nom fait référence au poète portugais Fernando Pessoa : le mot “arca” signifie “malle” en Portugais (Pessoa déposait la plupart de ses écrits dans une malle qui ne fut découverte qu’après sa mort).

In their eighteen years of existence, and with nearly five albums to their credit, the French duo Arca – made up of Joan Cambon and Sylvain Chauveau – have defined a singular musical universe based on sound research and melody. Their name refers to the Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa: the word “arca” means “trunk” in Portuguese (Pessoa deposited most of his writings in a trunk that was only discovered after his death).
